An Introduction to Polo
Your 1st session, which lasts 40 minutes, is a briefing on the basic rules and theory of polo by our professionally trained polo instructors.
Your 2nd session, which lasts 40 minutes, will be on the crates! You will be taught the mechanics of the mallet and the swing.
Your 3rd session is the "mallet, horse and rider session" and is all about
learning to hit the ball.
Your 4th and final session is an "instructional chukka" which is where you
put on team shirts and put into practice all that you have learnt, playing
against people of similar abilities as part of a team challenge.
Days of the week: Tuesday - Sunday.
Time of year: All year round, largest all-weather arena in Europe.
Introductory lesson 9am - 11am, Instructional chukkas start at 11.30am. These times could possibly be altered upon early request.
What to wear: If you have riding clothes and equipment, if not wear jeans with sensible low-heeled shoes and a warm jacket in cold weather.
Refreshments included: none.
Refreshments available for purchase: Steak sandwiches on home-made breads, home made soup etc.
